Mary Ardyce Guinther 86, of Indianapolis passed away October 13, 2011. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa to Harvey and Mable Poling on November 10, 1924. Following graduation from High School she went to Chicago to work at Western Union where she met Milton. They married on September 23, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa. After moving to Indiana she became active in many volunteer activities along with raising three children. She was also instrumental in the starting of a Pink Lady and White Cross Guild. In her later years while residing at Westside Garden Retirement Home, she gave her time to knitting over 1,000 caps for children all over the world. She also enjoyed Bell Choir, Bingo and WII Bowling. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and is survivied by children Marty (Nancy), Greg (Jean Ann), Rita Kay (Phil); grandchildren Jake, Tyler, Kyle, Ryan, Rachael (James) and one great grandchild J.J. She was preceeded in death by her husband Milton and siblings; Harvey Jr., Lorna Jeane Poling, Marylyn Prince, Kathleen Vanta, and Jack Poling. Mary Ardyce was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital. Visitation will be from 11-12am, Tuesday October 18, 2011, at Harry W. Moore Funeral Care and Crematory and her funeral service will be immediately following. She will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Garden.
